Hi I love this reminder. I only use substack, a little bit of pinterest, and my book instagram. I don't really go on my personal account at all, and I'm trying very hard to delete tiktok lol
Substack is such a treasure <3 and ah yes Pinterest I love it as well, but I never feel as much of a pressure there (maybe because I don’t post anything on it). I still have TikTok on my phone but it’s hidden away and I only open it now to look up products I am thinking of buying to specifically search for reviews haha
I definitely relate to trying to be an influencer especially after getting one or two viral posts on tik tok! It's addicting and not in a good way. I have made an effort to be more present in real life, but you may have just inspired me to delete tik tok!
That addictive rush dies out fast, and then you need a new high but it's impossible to keep up. I love that you're deciding to be more present 🤎 I deleted tiktok and after a while, I downloaded it again but simply it as a fun gain, something that can be used as inspiration but not aspiration
I'm not an influencer in the slightest (lol) but part of my job is social media marketing. As a user, I hate it. You've got it right with "headspace-resilient" and I actually don't have any social apps on my phone except Pinterest and Substack for that very reason. Thank you for such a brilliant post and all of these fab recommendations too!
Aw Soph thanks <3 I totally feel you on Pinterest and Substack being the primary apps! I also think using social media marketing in your job can be a super useful tool, and I wouldn't mind using whatever skill I have to write compelling texts/captions but trying to film trendy reels for my job drained the literal *life* out of me haha
